Heute kaum zu glauben – es gab ein goldenes Zeitalter des sozialen und öffentlichen Bauens. Die Reihe will als eine Archäologie der wohnungspolitischen Utopien auf diese Phasen in verschiedenen Ländern den Blick richten. Unsere Gäste stellen vor, wie Programme des öffentlich finanzierten Wohnungsbaus mit leistbaren Mieten für alle umgesetzt wurden und welche Voraussetzungen es dafür gab. Die historischen Beispiele zeigen, wie das Wohnen auch künftig organisiert werden könnte: leistbar, sozial und öffentlich.
Hard to believe today – there was a golden age of social and public building. As an archaeology of housing utopias, the series aims to focus on these phases in different countries. Our guests will present how programs of publicly financed housing with affordable rents for all were implemented and what the conditions were. The historical examples show how housing could also be organized in the future: affordable, social and public.

Die Reihe wurde entwickelt von der Initiative neuer kommunaler Wohnungsbau INKW zusammen mit dem MieterEcho. An der Arbeitsgruppe beteiligen sich der Andrej Holm/Stadtsoziologe, Joachim Oellerich/Chefredakteur MieterEcho, Manuel Lutz/Raumplaner und Poltikwissenschaftler, Philipp Möller/Redakteur MieterEcho und wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter Linksfraktion Berlin, Grischa Dallmer/Programmierer und Stadtaktivist und Matthias Coers/Filmemacher und Bildredaktion MieterEcho.
The series was developed by the New Municipal Housing Construction Initiative (INKW) in collaboration with MieterEcho. Participating in the working group are Andrej Holm, an urban sociologist, Joachim Oellerich, editor-in-chief of MieterEcho, Manuel Lutz, spatial planner and political scientist, Philipp Möller, editor at MieterEcho and research associate at the Left Party Berlin, Grischa Dallmer, programmer and city activist, and Matthias Coers, filmmaker and photo editor for MieterEcho.
